Kathryn uses alcohol inks to decorate hanging ceramic tiles. Her results are colorful and very pleasing.
Creating art with alcohol ink presents its own set of challenges. The ink is applied to any non-porous surface and then manipulated to reach the desired affect. I have been told by those who use alcohol ink that the medium "has a mind of its own", and "you never get the same result twice". With those challenges in mind...it speaks to Kathryn's skills as an artist that her designs are so beautifully done.
Here are samples of Kathryn Bruce's (BRU) hanging ceramic tiles.
The tiles range in size from 7 3/4" x 7 3/4" to 4" x 4". Aren't her designs and colors just wonderful?
(Remember, the letters in parentheses after Kathryn's name shows her code. When you see that code on work in The Gift Shop, you will know she created it.)
