Artists vs Covid19

One of our clay artists, Joanie Ugelow, shared a poem of hope written by a friend of hers. It is a moving reminder of connections and hope. Hope it will lighten up your heart during this pandemic.

More Gift Shop Artists vs Covid19

Another one of our talented Gift Shop artists, Pam Viviano, has sent in work she has created to help cope with these difficult times. Maybe she will inspire you to stay creative!

Pam's works in watercolor, pastel, and collage:

"During this time I have turned to a group called #sketchbook revival. This is a group of 24 artists who present online twice a day for two weeks. The founder of this project is Karen Abend. I’ve also followed Kimberly Kelly Santini’s online art journaling project that she has been leading with a fellow artist. This has helped me to have an almost daily practice which I had when I took an online class with Kimberly Kelly Santini. It has also helped to remind me to have my own rhythm and method and not to get too carried away with other peoples’approaches.
Some of the artwork here are prompts and others are of my own making especially the tea bags which I learned to paint on at the BBAC. I go there with my mother once a month— we also go to the Anton—  and I have learned different artistic approaches to materials at both which has been useful for me as an artist."

Anton Art Center and The Gift Shop may be closed, but the creativity continues.
