"Artist of the Month" for July is Abigail Davidson

 The Art Market "Artist of the Month" for July is Abigail Davidson.


Abigail Davidson is a printmaker and illustrator. She attended Wayne State University where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree magna cum laude.

Her artwork primarily features animals, fantasy creatures, flower patterns, typography, and nautical scenes. She specializes in linocut printmaking, and all of her prints are hand-carved and hand-printed, original creations.

The Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors is one of the oldest self-sustaining women's art organizations in the United States, having been founded by Lillian Burk Meeser on February 23, 1903. Its mission since inception has been to quicken interest in art movements of the day, to stimulate high achievement, active work, and mutual helpfulness among members, and to provide encouragement and support for art students.

Celebrate Father's Day

Father's Day will be here soon. Gift Dad (Husband, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother) something unique and memorable from the Art Market! Even if he is hard to buy for, you will find something for him here.

Al Sadaj has brought us a most interesting wooden treasure box. The top shows the image of a lighthouse, and sailboat, and the inside has nooks and crannies for Dad's memorabilia, or collectables.

Caruso & Lanza:Two Tenor Greats! Join us June 10 at 6pm on Facebook Live for the this free event with Michigan Opera Theatre as we look at two powerhouse tenors Enrico Caruso and Mario Lanza, both of whom celebrate 100 year anniversaries in 2021. We will delve into their lives and careers with opera lecturer John Zaretti, and featuring a performance by Michigan Opera Theatre Tenor Edward Graves singing their most popular works. 

Join us for our 3rd Annual Super SatARTday, Presented by First State Bank, on June 12, 2021 from 11 am - 3 pm. The event will be jam packed with free art performances, activities and demonstrations. We will have something for all ages and all abilities. This will be an outdoor and indoor event - masks required for indoor activities.
