Holiday Market Artists create unique Christmas bulbs wreaths

Holiday Market would not be the same without the Christmas bulb wreaths made by Jan Gunning and Marieluise Skrzynski. Each wreath has its own special personality, and made with great attention to detail.

"Wreath making has introduced us to many wonderful people. Whether we are at craft fairs, retail stores or volunteering at the Anton Art Center, we take delight in the interesting people we meet.  We take pleasure in the process of creating something that a family will enjoy every holiday season."

Holiday Market Artist specializes in classic Christmas arrangements

Our Holiday Market Artist this week is Joan Lynn. Her table-top arrangements and wreaths are classically beautiful.

According to Joan: "My parents used to tell the story of how, as a toddler, the first thing I did upon learning to walk was head straight for their garden to pick a flower. My love of flowers hasn’t faded in the 60+ years that I have been making floral arrangements. Dried arrangements transitioned to longer-lasting silk arrangements as artificial flowers became more realistic, and I look forward each year to creating Christmas designs especially for the Anton Art Center."

 Lyn Siciliano is our Holiday Market "Artist of the Week". 

"All my life I have loved art. My Grandmother was a oil painter, maybe that’s where I learned to appreciate painting.  I use to love to watch her paint and what she had created. I attended college to study art, and between college and my Grandmother that’s when I fell in love with painting.

My first Christmas Tree was to help the Humane Society with a fund-raiser. I found out how much fun I had making different ornaments and Christmas decorations."

Delphine has a special take in the materials she uses to create her art. Along with her husband, Don, she searches for, reclaims, and re-purposes architectural and building materials and turns them into whimsical art pieces.

Each week we will take a special look at one of our Holiday Market Artists. We start with mosaic artist Mary Abbott.

Mary Abbott is a mosaic artist. She began creating mosaic designs about 8 years ago when she participated in a class at a local studio and fell in love with the art form! She primarily use glass and ceramic in her creations but she also likes to experiment with incorporating china and jewelry pieces in her designs. 

According to Mary: "I love creating new patterns and trying different techniques and have learned there is no 'wrong' way to create."

Each of the above 6"x 6" glass mosaics are available in the Online Store for $35 each. Choose your favorite(s) now!
