The "Annual Artists Choice Show" exhibits the selected artwork by members of the Lakeside Palette Club of St. Clair. Shores, Mount Clemens Art association, Romeo Guild of Art, Shelby Township Fine Art Society, and Warren Tri -County Fine Arts Inc. The show will run until October 10. Don't miss it!

Apply to Holiday Market!

The deadline for application to  Holiday Market 2023 has been extended to Tuesday September 26! Take this opportunity to apply to join us. The mood is always festive with special events throughout the Market.

Holiday Market opens November 16 and runs until December 23. That's over 5 weeks of shopping for your customers! Once you are accepted you simply bring us your work. We set everything up, handle sales, taxes, packaging, and advertising!

"Artist of the Month" for September

 The Art Market "Artist of the Month" for September is clay artist Chris King.

Chris is currently a ceramics teacher at Pewabic Pottery in Detroit. He creates his own pottery with a focus on functionality. His pieces are finely made with subtle designs, and rich glazes.

Don't miss out...it's not too late to apply to be part of Holiday Market 2023!

Each year our Holiday Market is full of unique, artist-made gifts, including wall art, pottery, jewelry, wearables, children's gifts, cards, decore, and so much more!

Holiday Market runs Tuesdays thru Sundays for over 5 weeks starting just before Thanksgiving until December 23! There is a nominal charge to apply Holiday Market, and entries are juried.

We are open to all gift items, and this year we are looking to expand our selection in some specific areas:

1) Holiday themed items, we celebrate all of the winter holidays here at the Anton Art Center.

2) Garden Art in glass, metal, wood, etc. We can display even large pieces during Holiday Market.

3) Gifts for men. We have plenty of gifts for women and kids, but not so much for sometimes hard-to-buy-for men.

4) Gift/Decore items in glass, metal, and wood.

Art Market Summer Sale!

August is "Artist Appreciation Month"...so it is appropriate for the Art Market to have an art sale, making it even easier for everyone to take home beautiful art!

The Art Market Summer Sale will be on Friday, August 11, Saturday August 12 - 10am to 5pm each day. All purchases will be 15% off! 

The sale also includes purchases from our 1st ever - "Art Market Artist Show"(art can be picked-up starting on August 29 if purchased from the "Art Market Artist Show")!

Our walls and shelves are full of unique pieces made by Michigan artists...and a few from outside of Michigan.

Artist of the Month for August

 The Art Market "Artist of the Month" for August is painter Darleen Urbanek.

"I have been drawing/painting since I was old enough to hold a pencil. My most recent technique is first staining wood that is either purchased or repurposed.  Then I apply the acrylic art.  Finally I add design around the edges to either go along with the picture or emphasize the detail in the woodgrain. I love 'creating smiles' with my art. Most of the things I paint make me smile too. It's a win/win." 

Darleen is well known for her animal portraits. You can see the personality of each one shining through!

Just as eye-catching are her landscapes, still lifes, abstracts, mixed media, and portraits.
