Wall Art selection is wonderful

Here at The Gift Shop we have some of the most talented 2D artists around. Our wall art selection is just wonderful. There is something for any decor, color scheme, taste, or price range. Our selection is even better since our artists have brought in new pieces of original wall art.
Today we will highlight new work brought in by Hilda Havlik, Marilyn Thomas, Gloria Goeddeke, and Winnie Chrzanowski.

Hilda Havlik is one of most popular photographers. She offers framed work, prints, and cards. Here is a lovely lake scene she has brought us.

Gloria Goeddeke was an accomplished artist at Anton Art Center for many years. Although Gloria is no longer with us, her daughter has brought in some of her beautiful watercolors.

Marilyn Thomas is a very talented watercolor artist. Her work is available framed and unframed. Here is one of her more abstract pieces.

Winnie Chrzanowski is quite a daring photographer. You can find her work here framed, unframed, and as cards. Here is one of her frame-worthy cards entitled "Diva Darling"

More from our New Gift Shop

Recently about a quarter of our artists answered the call and brought in new work for The Gift Shop. The walls were rehung, shelves rearranged, fresh prints fill our racks, and bright new jewelry is on display.

Today I have more pictures some of the new artwork. Pictured are some fresh new Raku ceramic pieces from Joan Ugelow.

This shelf shows off several works, including a new ceramic birdhouse from Nancy Drescher, and a pretty painted box from Mary Tassone,

We have a New Gift Shop!

The Gift Shop has a new look!  Not too long ago, we asked the artists to refresh their artwork...and they responded. Nearly a quarter of our artists replaced their older pieces with new work. Then our oh-so-clever volunteers rehung the walls, rearranged the art, and refilled the jewelry counter to create a whole New Gift Shop. The artists are happy to show their new work, our volunteers have a new outlook, and you get a fresh new shopping experience.
We have new glass, wall art, ceramics, jewelry, whimsy, and wearable art. In the coming weeks I will highlight the artists, and their new work, that has been brought in to give The Gift Shop a summer makeover.

This week we will start with one of The Gift Shop's favorite glass artists. Patty Schubel has brought in more of her imaginative and colorful glasswork. Her slumped glass votives are very popular, and you can see why. They are just beautiful, and the colors are so vibrant!

This summer, Patty has brought us votives in a whole new style. Aren't they pretty?

Make a point to come in to see more of Patty's glass, our new art, and favorite pieces that are still a big part of The Gift Shop.
Be sure to check out the current exhibits in Anton Art Center's galleries: "Members Only: 45th Anniversary Show" in the main Gallery, and an exciting new show "Emerging Artists 2015" .

We have a new felt artist

We are happy to welcome to The Gift Shop a new artist: Karen DeCarlo. Karen's special talent is working with felt. She has brought us some wonderful creations.
Apparently Karen can make just about anything from felt! Here are some of her colorful, and oh-so-much-fun finger puppets.

Talk about imaginative... this is a wooden treasure box that is decorated with "Creatures of the Sea", made from felt.

Just look at this stunning necklace crafted from felt, and embellished with beads.

These are only a few of the works that Karen has created for us. Come in and see the rest.

When you come in to The Gift Shop, be sure to see the current exhibit: "Members Only: 45th Anniversary Show" . See the show, and then vote for your favorite piece (you do not have to be a member of Anton Art Center to vote).
