New watercolor artist at The Gift Shop

We have a new watercolor artist here at The Gift Shop. His name is Richard Aho (his code is: AHO). The paintings he has brought us go from exuberantly bright and modern, to beautifully detailed and realistic. Very nice work!

Here is one of his bright, colorful pieces.

This next piece is beautifully rendered. Realistic and evocative at the same time.

This watercolor has a bit of a folk-art feel going on.

Come in and see these and Richard's other works here at The Gift Shop.

Artists in jewelry, ceramic, watercolor, and fashion at The Gift Shop

Spring is officially here, but the artists of Christmas Market are still on my mind! We had so many talented people who created in different mediums and styles who participated.
Let me introduce you to four more artists from Christmas Market who have decided to join The Gift Shop year-round: Helena Kuttner-Giasson, Denise Jenkins, Anita Wood, and Elizabeth Martin.

Helena Kuttner-Giasson is a truly gifted painter. Her flower paintings are exquisite and beautifully framed.

                                                      Helena Kuttner-Giasson (KUTT)

Denise Jenkins is a talented fabric artist. We are carrying several styles of her scarves, including "Infinity".

                                                               Denise Jenkins (JEN)

Anita Wood creates beautiful jewelry. Her work is classic to contemporary, and everything in between. She even makes one style of necklace that actually "floats" on the neck!

                                                               Anita Wood (WOOD)

Elizabeth Martin has overcome physical challenges to make really lovely ceramics. Pictured is some of her ceramic hearts that she has set in a frame. Very nice!

                                                              Elizabeth Martin (MARTI)

The letters in parentheses after each artist's name show their code. When you see that code on work in The Gift Shop, you will know who created it.

Come to Anton Art Center to see all the lovely work at The Gift Shop, and be sure to check-out the student works on exhibit in the "2015 Macomb County Annual Secondary Student Show" . These young people are so talented!

Prints, glass, and pottery at The Gift Shop

We're not done yet!
For the past weeks, I have been focusing on artists from Christmas Market who have decided to be part of The Gift Shop all year round. This week the spotlight is on Mary Jo Beranek, Alysa Marie Diebolt, and Audrey Long.

Mary Jo Beranek has participated in Christmas Market for many years, so you may recognize her brilliant prints and cards.

Alysa Marie Diebolt is a glass artist. Pictured is one of her beautiful creations.

Audrey Long makes beautiful pottery pieces. Her glazes are brilliant!

Just to remind you... the letters in parentheses show each artists' code. Find the code on a piece of art, and you will know who created it.

Now that the weather has gotten more pleasant, come to downtown Mount Clemens. Stroll around, have lunch, and (of course) come to Anton Art Center. Shop The Gift Shop and check-out the student artwork on exhibit now in the "2015 Macomb County Annual Secondary Student Show".

Meet more artists

The Gift Shop is very lucky to have attracted so many talented, creative people. More and more of our Christmas Market artists are choosing to join The Gift Shop year round. Let me introduce you to four more: Jim and Barb Rudis, Michelle Teno, and Rick Shapero.

Jim and Barb Rudis combine their talents to make striking mosaics. They use various materials, including wood, glass, tiles, and stone.

Michelle Teno makes decorative goat's milk soap. She uses the most interesting molds, almost too nice to actually use as soap!

Michelle Teno (TENO)

Rick Shapero does some very creative things with glass. He uses brilliant colors, and flowing shapes in his work.

Just to remind you... the letters in parentheses show each artists' code. Find the code on a piece of art, and you will know who created it.

Come in to see these works, and so much more here at The Gift Shop.
