The Gift Shop "Artist of the Month"

The Gift Shop "Artist of the Month" for September is Patti Pfaendtner.

Patti Pfaendtner (PFA) is a mixed media artist. She prides herself on finding innovative and unique uses for discarded and/or vintage materials, including found metal, flea market dolls, exotic wood, antique drawers, clay, and vintage text. Each art piece is original and is created with an eye towards whimsy, fantasy, and surprise. Her works often carry a special meaning, reflected by their titles and wording within them.

Bring the Garden Indoors

It is wonderful to stroll through gardens at this time of year. Here at The Gift Shop we have art that will bring that same feeling of wonder into your home.
This week we will look at the garden art of: Cheryl English, Chris Charron, and Lynn Conlen.

Cheryl English (ENG) is a very well known clay artist, and garden expert. We have her pretty little table top birdbaths. Each is embellished with a clay leaf formed from an actual leaf from one of our native trees.

Chris Charron (CHAR) is a photographer. His flower photos are stunning.

Lynn Conlen (CON) is a clay artist who has created the sweetest ceramic butterflies. Some are made to stand on their own, others to hang on the wall.

Enjoy your summer inside and out!

The Gift Shop "Artist of the Month"

Irma Reinboth is the "Artist of the Month" for August here at The Gift Shop.

Irma Reinboth (REI) was born and raised in Mount Clemens. She has been painting in oils for many years. She recently began painting directly onto wood using dye, and then embellishing with oil pen or ink, in a process known as: "Wood Batik". Irma learned this process from a well-known Hawaiian artist named Ricky Pa.
In her own words: " I love seeing how each painting I create is going to turn out. The grain and hardness of  each piece of wood takes the dye differently, making every painting unique."

Framed 8x10  "Blue Cheek Butterfly Fish"

Framed 6x11 "European Robin"

Framed 8x10 "Michigan Oriole"

Framed 6.5x11 "Western Scrub Jay"

Framed 6x11 "Yellow Warbler of Oklahoma"

Come in soon and see these lovely, vibrant paintings for yourself.
