"Artist of the Month" for May

The Gift Shop "Artist of the Month" for May is Antonietta Woerner.

Antonietta Woerner

"Born in Germany, I immigrated to the United States in 2000. Being a massage therapist by trade my hobbies were always working in the artistic field. Coming from quilt making, knitting and crocheting I switched to jewelry ( beads) making and finally found my home in painting. I am working to make painting my full time hobby. It is an art which I really enjoy doing and also enjoy the reaction of people when they see the art work."

Here at The Gift Shop, we have Antonietta's jewelry, featuring her intricate woven-bead work.

She has also brought us her paintings. The three below are done with alcohol ink on tiles covered with resin for protection, mounted and framed.

Bring Beauty to your Walls

Here at The Gift Shop we are so happy to have talented wall-art artists. Our artists create in oils, watercolor, pastels, pen and ink, photography, acrylic and more.
This week we will look at the wall-art artists Judy Munro, Marianna Defer-Pfeifer, and Helena Kuttner-Giasson.

Judy Munro is new to The Gift Shop. She has been in our Holiday Market, and had great success. Judy paints in oils. Here are three of her landscapes.

Her style, use of color and movement are just beautiful!

Marianna Defer-Pfeifer has been with Anton Art Center, and The Gift Shop for many years. In fact she taught painting here at Anton. Her style is classic. Pictured is her oil painting "Lake Michigan".

Helena Kuttner-Giasson uses watercolor, acrylic, and pen and ink to create her works.

Come in and see all the great wall-art here at The Gift Shop. Also...Just in time for Spring and Easter, Jan Lindell-Meinhard has brought in some of her adorable ceramic bunnies!

Unique, original cards at The Gift Shop

Here at The Gift Shop, we have many unique greeting cards to choose from. This week we will look at original cards by Patty Woodstock, Mino Watanabe, and Winnie Chrzanowski.

Patty Woodstock is one of our multi-talented artists. Her cards display her fanciful clay creatures. She created, fired, and glazed each one. Then she photographed them in their "natural habitats", and made them into the greeting cards. Pictured are just three cards from her collection.

Mino Watanabe is one of best selling artists. We have her imaginative paintings in prints, and as greeting cards.

Winnie Chrzanowski is an award winning photographer. We have her work framed, as prints, and even on coffee mugs and clipboards! Her greeting cards are striking and beautiful.

Each of these cards is unique, and original...just like their creators. And, as I have said before, framed cards can be great little pieces of art.
