Artist of the Month for September

Our Gift Shop "Artist of the Month" for September is clay artist Linda Ruehle.

Linda has pursued artistic endeavors throughout her life and has devoted a significant part of it encouraging others to follow their own creative passions. She presently serves as the Arts Education Director for the Shiawassee Arts Center. She lives in Owosso.
Linda began to work in clay about 20 years ago. She feels a connection through clay with a history of people who love and have loved pottery and recognizes the magic of making earth become art. Nature provides a limitless source of inspiration and textures for creating her new work.

Above are three examples of Linda's "deeply carved" clay series.

This leaf plate is about 10" across.

This beautiful Hosta leaf dish shows off Linda's gorgeous "eggplant" color glaze.

This two-piece veggie platter and bowl set are still another example of the lovely glazes that Linda has chosen.
